
PARAMEDIC CERTIFICATION AND TRAINING
The Paramedic is an allied health professional whose primary focus is to provide advanced emergency medical care for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Paramedics function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight of a medical director. Paramedics perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance. The Paramedic is a link from the scene into the health care system.
Program Expectations: To prepare competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.
1. To provide students with the knowledge necessary to become competent entry-level
Paramedics.
2. To provide students with the clinical skills which are necessary for technical proficiency as
entry-level Paramedics.
3. To develop and foster behaviors attributes, and attitudes of a professional in the field of
emergency care.
What You Will Learn
Upon completion of the program, you will be able to
UNDERSTAND
and apply emergency medical knowledge when caring for a patient with advanced skills for more comprehensive emergency medical interventions.
ASSESS
Assess patients and utilize appropriate skills to treat and care for sick or injured patients. Assessments include advanced assessment, airway management, intravenous therapy, and pharmacological interventions.
DEMONSTRATE
Demonstrate the personal and professional behaviors relative to the role of an Advanced EMT, including the ability to lead a truck.
INTEGRATE
Integrating a comprehensive set of knowledge, skills, and behaviors is essential to effectively functioning within the emergency healthcare system. Additionally, further responsibilities encompassing a broader practice scope must be embraced.

Application Process Details
Step 1.
Complete the application form for the course. Unlike others, we don't charge an extra $750 to hold your seat; instead, your $750 deposit goes directly toward your $6,000 tuition, securing your spot in the class.
We offer two payment options: Pay the tuition fee of $6,000 in full or we offer a monthly payment plan of $750 deposit on or before the first day of class. and five monthly payments of $1,050
You will also be required to submit the required documents at the time of application. Those documents are listed below.
Step 2.
You will receive an email confirming that your application was received by one of our employees
Step 3
Once we have determined that your documents comply, you will then receive an approval email with a link to the tuition agreement. Once you have signed and returned the tuition agreement, we will have been accepted into the course.
Enrollment Requirements
Currently licensed EMT or AEMT.
Background Check
A background check is required. You may obtain a background check by going to Advantage Students (A fee applies, and is the responsibility of the student to complete the check and upload the documents into the required form). You may choose another vendor for a background check; HOWEVER, the background check must be within the last 6 months and it MUST be a nationwide background check.
Your application will not be processed until we have the official background check.

Vaccinations
TB/X-Ray
Tuberculin skin test within the past 12 months or documentation of a previous positive reactor or negative x-ray
MMR
Proof of Mumps, Rubella and Rubeola immunity by positive antibody titers or 2 doses of MMR
Hepatitis B
Proof of Hepatitis B immunization
Tdap
vaccination must have been done within the last 10 years
Varicella
Varicella immunity, by positive history of chickenpox or proof of Varicella immunization.

The Pillar EMS Academy Paramedic program has been issued a Letter of Review by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). This letter is NOT a CAAHEP accreditation status, it is a status signifying that a program seeking initial accreditation has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the accreditation standards through the Letter of Review Self-Study Report (LSSR) and other documentation. Letter of Review is recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for eligibility to take the National Registry's Paramedic credentialing examination(s). However, it is NOT a guarantee of eventual accreditation.
